Cuyahoga County, named after the Iroquoian word Cuyahoga or crooked river, is the most populated county in Ohio. Cuyahoga County was formed in 1810. Cleveland is the county seat of Cuyahoga County. It is home to many universities including John Carroll, Baldwin Wallace, and Cleveland State University. The Cleveland Clinic, one of the best hospitals in the country is also located in Cuyahoga County. The county covers over 1,200 square miles. It also houses the Cleveland Metroparks which cover over 21,000 acres.
